What to do in Maslenica: Visit the city of Zadar

How to get to Zadar from Maslenica

The easiest way to get there is to take the local road to Zadar which is about 30 minutes of driving away. You can park your car in Zadar, pay a daily parking ticket and enjoy a full day of sightseeing.

 

Enjoy the sunset at the Sea Organ

The sea organ is an experimental musical instrument created by the architect Nikola Bašić, and was revealed to the public in 2005. The organ creates sound art by using the power of the sea and waves, moving air through the underground tube system underneath the marble steps where visitors can relax and enjoy the sounds and sights.

The perfect time to enjoy the Sea organ is anytime there’s a bit of wind and waves, but the best is if it’s paired with the sunset.

 

Take a stroll through the old town and Roman remains

There’s traces of life and human activity in the area of Zadar dating back to the stone ages. Zadar traces it’s roots to 9th century BC when the Illyrian tribe Liburnians formed a settlement called Iader. It was a Roman colonia after that, leaving remains and the old city structure that can be seen today.
